'Spooktacular' fun at world of steam in miniature Surrey railway with ride on trains children will love
A charming Surrey miniature railway is hosting a “spooktacular” event children will love, with little steam trains, cakes and drinks. If you haven’t visited yet, Great Cockcrow Railway is a special place where train enthusiasts come together to run the miniature trains, run by steam.
The incredible collection was first introduced in 1946 by John Samuel in Walton-on-Thames, and later moved to Chertsey. It’s been entertaining families ever since and is a fun, affordable day out that children adore.
Two railways can be found on site, each taking around 20 minutes to complete, as you ride along in the scenic countryside. Both routes include bridges, hills and mini train stations.

The site's tea room will remain open for refreshments like cakes, ice creams and coffees, and a BBQ with sausages and burgers will also be hosted for hungry visitors.
