Sports Festival Crew Scrambles to Grab Equipment Sent Flying by Siberian Hurricane

A hurricane that blasted the south Ural city of Tyumen, Russia sent organizers of the Extreme Expo sports festival scrambling to secure staging and sports equipment on May 20 as high winds began to blow it away.

At least 39 people were injured in the hurricane and six Tyumen residents were hospitalized, Interfax reported, quoting a health spokesman in the area. The hurricane lasted only a few minutes, but felled dozens of trees and tore roofs from houses, Interfax also said.
