The CIA has put social media users to the test with its own version of spot the difference.

The US intelligence agency delighted Twitter users by posting the puzzle on its account on Tuesday evening.

Sharing two near-identical photos of a street, it challenged followers to “put their observation skills to the test”.

“Can you spot the 10 differences in the photo below?” it asked.

The following day, it revealed the answers, circling the key points. (We won't spoil it for you, you can find them here.)

But eagle-eyed trivia lovers were quick to point out differences missed by America’s top spies.

“More than 10!” one user replied triumphantly.

Another claimed they completed the game in “less than a minute,” adding: “I’ll wait for my job offer.”

A number of players said they spotted 11 or 12 differences, with some branding the test “too easy”.

The agency commented: “If you found more than 10 differences, you practised good tradecraft.

“Always look for opportunities to learn more.”
