Spotify app update brings very controversial, hidden repeat button

Spotify's latest update is drawing anger from users who claim it has hidden one of its most important buttons.

The company recently released a redesigned version of its app for iOS and Android that brought a minor tweak to the way the app looks.

But that minor tweak has caused major upset among the users who have disagreed with designers' latest choices.

The most controversial of the changes is that the "repeat" and "go to queue" buttons have fallen off the now playing screen that users regularly see while listening to music.

Instead, people must bury into menus if they want songs to keep playing or to see what's coming up next.

Spotify's Reddit community is full of threads by outraged users who complain that the update actually appears to be a downgrade, and has removed some of its central features.

"Dear Spotify, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it," reads one update, which has received hundreds of approving responses. "Anyone else sick and tired of having to press the three dots at the top just to hit repeat? Just to see your queue?

"Yeah, me too. The old mobile app was perfectly fine."

In the replies, many said they were not even aware of how to actually get to the missing buttons.

Getting to the menu that includes shuffle is relatively simple, even if it is not at all obvious and still relatively time-consuming. To bring up the lost menu, click the three dots that are in the top right corner of the now playing page, which will bring up a whole host of other missing buttons, such as the button that will take you into your queue.
