The BBC Sports Personality of the Year takes place on Sunday, honouring the best of British sporting talent.

For the first time ever, contenders will not be announced until the night of the awards show itself, ramping up speculation as to who will be crowned winner.

The prestigious award takes place every December and is this year being presented by Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan and Clare Balding from the Genting Arena in Birmingham.

Last year Olympic champion Mo Farrah took home the honour, with the favourites for 2018's event including athletes from a whole range of sporting disciplines.
