St Andrew’s Hospice opens doors of new shopping outlet in Coatbridge
St Andrew’s Hospice has opened the doors of its new shopping outlet in Coatbridge.
Home town singing sensation, and hospice supporter, Edward Reid cut the ribbon and officially welcomed customers to the store.
Located at 5 Locks Street, the impressive outlet spans 22,000 square feet and features a wide selection of menswear, womenswear, children and baby clothing, gifts, toys, furniture and homewares.
Once you have shopped the rails, you can take the weight off your feet and enjoy a hot drink in the store’s Hospice Hub, where you can learn more about the care offered by the charity - and how your support helps to deliver these vital services.
Or you can sit down in an armchair as you browse the fantastic selection of books on offer, while there are even beanbags for the kids.
Hospice chief executive, Joy Farquharson, told Lanarkshire Live: “We are thrilled to open our new shopping outlet, which represents not just a retail space but a community hub dedicated to supporting the incredible work of St Andrew’s Hospice.

"Every purchase made here directly contributes to providing care and support to those who need it most.
“I would like to thank sincerely the businesses and community of Lanarkshire who have supported this project over the past four months with resources, time, equipment and expertise.
"Thanks also go to our retail team; heir creativity and commitment has produced an amazing shopping experience which will raise vital funding for hospice care.
"We invite everyone to visit, shop, donate and join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of many."

The charity is looking for the community to support this new venture by donating their pre-loved goods, including furniture, clothing, books, jewellery and homewares.
So, if you are having a clear out, moving house or redecorating, you can drop your donations off at the back door of the outlet during opening hours.
If you wish to donate larger items, the hospice’s team of drivers can collect your items at a time convenient to you.; arrange a free uplift online or by calling 01236 796634.
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can help raise 25 per cent more from your donations, at no extra cost to you, by signing up to Gift Aid. here.

Meanwhile, the hospice is still recruiting volunteers to help run the shopping outlet.
