St Helens player ratings horrendous after dismal Castleford Tigers defeat

Jack Welsby - 4: Uncharacteristically quiet evening from the full back compounded with the error which cost the match winning penalty.

Waqa Blake - 3: Looked ineffective in attack and shaky in defence. One to forget.

Ben Davies - 5: Solid if unspectacular from the centre.

Mark Percival - 6: Tough carries out of back field and good defence. Didn't deserve to be on the losing team.

Tee Ritson - 3: Looked out of place and all at sea defensively. Didn't stake his claim for a regular jersey.

Jonny Lomax - 4: Tried to inject himself into the game on his return from injury but looked hampered by the strapping on his hand.

Lewis Dodd - 3: A night to forget for the scrum half. Far too many errors and loose kicks.

George Delaney - 4: Ran hard enough without punching holes in the Castleford defence.

Moses Mbye - 4: Under par night at hooker. Didn't provide any variation.

Matty Lees - 5: Better second stint than first. Always willing.

Curtis Sironen - 5: Another who ran hard enough without producing anything of note.

Sam Royle - 5: Provided the only bright spot of the first half with his well taken try.

James Bell - 5: As industrious as ever but nowhere near his best evening.

Iggy Paasi - 4: Had one or two bright moments and came close to settling the contest on two occasions but came up with errors.

Noah Stephens - 6: Provided much needed go forward from the bench. Not reintroduced.

Jake Burns - 6: Provided the most accurate passing from dummy half of the night and gave a running threat.

Jonny Vaughan - 5: Bright off the bench and in no way culpable for the defeat.
