It’s been a pretty brilliant few months for documentary maker Stacey Dooley. She captured the nation’s affection while dancing on Strictly Come Dancing with Kevin Clifton and went on to raise the glitter ball trophy with him in December 2018. Shortly after, the journalist landed a job presenting the BBC’s New Year’s Eve festivities with fellow Strictly star Joe Sugg.

When her NYE presenting gig was announced, Stacey said: "2018 has been such a fantastic year for me, working on some hard-hitting documentaries as well as Strictly, has been a real treat. Presenting with Joe Sugg at the New Year’s Eve concert with Madness is the perfect ending to such a great year!”

It seems like 2019 is set to be equally as fulfilling for Stacey as she’s landed a new role that links back to her roots as an investigative journalist.

She’s been appointed Contributing Editor (Investigations) at Grazia magazine and will write a series of investigations for the publication throughout the year.

“I’m delighted to work alongside the Grazia team this year. Their dedication towards exploring stories, both at home and much further afield really appeals to me. I can’t wait to get going,” Stacey said of the new role.

Aside from doing her hard-hitting day job, Stacey will also take part in the Strictly tour this year, dancing with Aljaž Škorjanec as Kevin Clifton is busy working on a West End production.

She shared a video of herself and Aljaž posing for promotional pictures – and it looks like they’re raring to hit the dance floor.

So, 2019 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Stacey. We’re looking forward to seeing her shine as the months go on.
