From post-birth bathing to “mum guilt,” nothing is off-limits for Stacey Solomon when it comes to sharing baby-related ups and downs online. Now, the Loose Women presenter has opened up about her own experiences with breastfeeding.

In her continued attempt to shine light on issues new mothers might find themselves facing, the 29-year-old took to Instagram recently to admit that “not so long ago, [she] used to dread” breastfeeding her third son, Rex.

Alongside a smiley selfie, she continued: “It’s so nice to uncurl my toes, not be fighting with shields or trying to sooth my bleeding nipples and actually get excited for the times that Rex wants to feed on me.

“I never managed to exclusively breastfeed. He has bottle and boob, mostly boob before naps for comfort and that works for us!”

Solomon added that when Rex was first born, she used to pressure herself into breastfeeding and “wanted to love it so badly,” imagining how “easy, convenient and blissful” it would be.

“It wasn’t any of those things,” she recalled, candidly. “I never believed anyone when they said it will become easier and almost painless eventually, but it has. I can’t even remember when it changed. But 10 weeks in and it feels so much better. It feels like how I imagined it in the first place.

“If I could offer any advise, it would be what everyone told me. FED IS BEST and WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU. Mummas YOU ARE INCREDIBLE.”

Solomon and long-term partner Joe Swash welcomed Rex on 23 May. Just a few days ago, the former X Factor contestant revealed that Swash treated her and the rest of their family to a meal prepared for them by her favourite chef Theo Michaels.
