Staff at Specsavers in Larkhall host fun-filled afternoon to raise cash for Guide Dogs UK
Staff at Specsavers in Larkhall hosted a fun-filled afternoon packed with sweet treats and games, all to further their efforts in raising funds for charity Guide Dogs UK.
More than £300 was raised during the fundraiser at the Union Street store, where customers were invited to take part in games such as ‘Guess the Guide Dog’ name, as well as a bake sale featuring baked goodies provided by the team.
The event formed part of the store’s ongoing fundraising and support for Guide Dogs UK this year, which has so far raised more than £950 for the charity.
Representatives from Guide Dogs UK also attended the event on the day, along with guide dog Ches, who greeted customers getting involved in the festivities.
Through this fundraising campaign, the store also hopes to help raise awareness about the important work carried out by Guide Dogs UK, as they train and develop young guide dogs to provide additional support to members of the community with visual impairments.
The store will also be selling Christmas cards in store throughout November and December to further raise funds as part of this campaign.
Steven Brennan, store director in Specsavers Larkhall, said: “I’d like to thank all of our customers who have helped make each of our fundraising events this year for Guide Dogs UK such a success.

“Every donation we receive will help the charity to train a young guide dog, who could go on to change the day-to-day life of someone with visual impairments. We’d like to thank Guide Dogs UK and Ches for popping by to pay us a visit too on the day.
“I’d like to extend that thanks to the Specsavers Larkhall team who have being going above and beyond to keep the fun in fundraising across each of these events.”
