Stanley Johnson has raised eyebrows by asking whether or not his son, Boris, is still the Foreign Secretary as he left the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

The former MEP asked for news of his son's employment after being cut off from the outside world for over two weeks.

He also said he was looking forward to his emails: "I want to know what's been happening on the great outside, I want to  know whether Boris is still Foreign Secretary...that's the kind of little thing I will look up."

Mr Johnson revealed on Thursday morning that he has not yet had a phone call from his son.

The writer told Good Morning Britain: "I haven't had a specific telephone conversation with him. I  have had a WhatsApp communication and he is as thrilled as I am."

The shock eviction meant Stanley Johnson, who was a favourite to reach the final, leaving fifth, despite fans calling for former footballer Dennis Wise to leave because of his "bullying."

Mr Johnson appeared disappointed to not have won, and said he was "gutted in every sense", revealing he has lost nine kilos of weight because of the meagre rice and beans diet celebrities are subjected to in the jungle.

He said: "Yes I am so gutted to be out. The voice of the people has spoken and we have to listen to it.

"I lost nine kilos so I really am gutted in every sense.

"Beans and rice is absolutely fine, half the world would kill for a meal of beans and rice."

Reflecting on his time, he said: "You know, I think I really was disappointed not to win, I didn't go in there thinking let's have a nice weekend in the Gold Coast..I was totally disappointed, I gave my best.

"The finest rainforest you could imagine, the food left a bit to be desired, but we couldn't have asked for more."
