Star Wars will play out in Hull again after a fantastic reception by the city to the first ever Star-Con.

Star-Con Episode 2 will bring more Star Wars-themed comic con fun and entertainment to the DoubleTree by Hilton. The date will, naturally, be May the 4th, which this year falls on a Sunday. Amanda Marriott, of organisers Luxx Events Ltd, said: “After it being a great success last year, we are bringing it back to the people of Hull once again, with all-new props, film guests and lots of activities.

“There was such a great welcome from the people of Hull last time, there was lots of love for the event. There were loads of people coming through the door.

“We look forward to everyone joining us again for a fun-filled day out as we explore a galaxy far, far away. Meet some of your favourite characters, capture unforgettable moments with exciting photo opportunities, and meet guests from TV and film.”

Star-Con is designed for all ages and families are encouraged to dress the part as they immerse themselves in “a world of adventure” for the day, which runs from 10am to 4pm. They could bump into any one of about 25 characters from the Star Wars franchise, making themselves at home in Hull.

This year, the organisers are delighted to welcome along star guest Ross Sambridge, an English actor who worked as the body for Snoke in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi and played a Wookiee Slave in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Amanda said: “He will be with us signing pictures, taking photos and telling stories of being on set.”

Also due to appear is actor Wilf Scolding, best known for playing Captain Vanis Tigo in Star Wars: Andor. Wilf has also starred in multiple global franchises, including playing Rhaegar Targaryen in Game of Thrones and Frank Doyle in Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore.

Wilf also does some work in video games, and now voices The Imperial Agent in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and played Terry Williams in Fifa 19. He also voices Chris Carter in The Archers.

Flying into Star-Con will be an X-WING, a fully interactive prop, where people can take their place in the pilot’s seat for the perfect photo opportunity. There will be a light saber school, table-top gaming, lots of traders with collectables and merchandise on offer, and free face-painting and glitter tattoos, in with the admission price.

There are a number of different ticket options, including family packages and student prices. Although you can pay on the door, it is advised you book beforehand for fuss-free entry on the day.
