‘Star Trek’ Stage Musical Being Explored – Comic-Con
One of the beans spilled at the Paramount+ Comic-Con panel by EP Akiva Goldsman was the possiblity of a Star Trek stage musical.
In regards to what part of the universe would get stage stoppers — that wasn’t really detailed. However, the stage musical is likely centered around the streaming series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Alex Kurtzman and Goldsman were asked by a fan if there would be more musical episodes ala episode 209 “Subspace Rhapsody” which repped the sci-fi franchise’s first ever music-fueled episode.

Goldsman answered, “We’re in the very early stages of figuring out whether we can bring a version of that to the stage.”
Rebecca Romijn, who plays Una Chin-Riley on Strange New Worlds, who was also on today’s panel, exclaimed, “Akiva, I can’t believe you just said that!”
In “Subspace Rhapsody,” an accident with an experimental quantum probability field causes everyone on the USS Enterprise to break into song, but the real danger is that the field is expanding and beginning to impact other ships-allies and enemies alike.
