EA is doing everything it can to keep Star Wars Battlefront II feeling fresh as it's now announced the new Capital Supremacy game mode.

Arriving on March 26, Capital Supremacy is a Clone Wars-era game mode that includes AI characters for the first time in Battlefront II competitive matches.

The mode starts with a territory control phase on the ground, and is followed by an invasion phase.

During the ground phase, players must acquire enough control points to increase their number of reinforcements. The invasion phase then sees them launch an attack on a shuttle by entering the ship and planting explosive devices inside.

If the defending team hold out, however, the match is taken back to the ground phase where the territory control battle resumes.

In a blog post on its official website, EA wrote: "Starting Mar 26, the forces of the Galactic Republic and Separatists clash in Capital Supremacy – an immersive, Clone Wars-era authentic experience in Star Wars Battlefront II – where non-linear ground battles fuse with the thrill of invading capital ships and taking them down."

Capital Supremacy adds the new location Pipeline Junction West on Geonosis, as well as brand new units Republic ARC Troopers and Separatist BX Commando Droids.

Last month, EA announced the addition of Anakin Skywalker to the game, the stroppy version who hasn't yet been frazzled half to death by liquid hot magma on the planet Mustafar.
