Yep, a unit that was used for filming on the Star Wars movies has been sold for $2.76 million (£2.13 million) at an auction this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Profiles in History auction also saw items including Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, Darth Vader's helmet and shoulder armour and Imperial and Rebel weapons up for sale.

However, the R2 unit – which was made up of parts used throughout filming – was the most expensive item up for sale.

Meanwhile, the people behind The Force Awakens have recently opened up about that confusing plot line in the movie when R2 seemed to wake up at the convenient end point of the movie.

The droid showed a map to Skywalker at the end of the film, though screenwriter Michael Arndt explained: "We had the idea about R2 plugging into the information base of the Death Star, and that's how he was able to get the full map and find where the Jedi temples are."

JJ Abrams added: "BB-8 comes up and says something to him, which is basically, 'I've got this piece of a map, do you happen to have the rest?'

"The idea was R2, who has been all over the galaxy, is still in his coma, but he hears this. And it triggers something that would ultimately wake him up."

The next movie in the series, The Last Jedi, will be released in December.
