Yahoo News Star Wars' Mark Hamill addresses whether he will appear as Luke Skywalker again
Star Wars fans will likely never see Mark Hamill in Luke Skywalker's robes ever again.
During 2017's The Last Jedi, a shabbier version of the iconic hero took centre stage before seemingly dying, but then in The Mandalorian's second season finale, a de-aged Skywalker crashed the party to whisk Grogu away for Jedi training.
"When I read [Episode] VIII, I knew it was over," reflected Hamill in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "So I was relishing every moment, but also saying goodbye to all those people that I had associated with over the years. So I still miss them."

And yet, with co-star Daisy Ridley set for a sensational return to a galaxy far, far away in director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's follow-up to Rise of Skywalker, there's always a chance Hamill could join her character Rey in Force ghost form... surely?
"No, I don't have any expectations of that happening," the actor confessed.
This comes after Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told IGN that Skywalker's future remains uncertain on the big screen.
"I don't know if we'll spend a lot of time in flashbacks or [on] Force ghosts or things like that, but certainly, the spirit of what he represents to her is going to be significant," she said of the aforementioned flick.

"Well we're 15 years out from Rise of Skywalker, so we're post-war, post-First Order and the Jedi are in disarray. There's a lot of discussion around, 'Who are the Jedi? What are they doing? What's the state of the galaxy?'
"She's attempting to rebuild the Jedi Order, based on the books, based on what she promised Luke, so that's where we're going."
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
