Starbucks Manager Fired After Yelling At Customer In Row Over 'Stolen Edible Straw'

A Starbucks manager has been fired after yelling at a customer she'd accused of stealing an edible straw.

Ruby Chen was shouted at by the irate boss after buying a Frappuccino and the straw from a Starbucks in Queens, New York.

The manager, known only as 'Melissa', yells aggressively for her to 'Get out!' while threatening to call the police and gesturing towards the door.

The basis of the row is unclear, but the furious employee continues her tirade against the customer even after others try to calm her down.

She eventually snatches the straw from Ruby and bellows at her: 'You’re not going to be served here. Bye! Bye! Bye!’.

The loud-mouthed barista's angry confrontation goes on for two minutes before she eventually calms down and serves other customers.

After seeing footage of the row on their Facebook page, Starbucks said they've suspended the ill-tempered manager.

A spokesperson said: 'As soon as we learned of the situation, the partner was suspended and now no longer works for the company.’

Ruby posted online alongside the video: 'Melissa started to shout at me saying 'Hey, helloooo' with a very bad attitude.

'The only thing I said to her is 'sorry I don’t hear you but you don’t have to yell.' And till now, I haven’t figured out which word aggravated her.

'Then she took the scanner away as I was trying to pay then told me to leave and never go back. I was trying to ask other employees who I can speak to.

'She thought I [was] leaving with the straw in my hand (I picked it up before everything happened); she said I am stealing the straw.

'Really?! call me stealing! I felt so bad for what happened, especially [as there is] nobody I can report her to because she is the manager.’
