Starlings Fly in Captivating Murmuration as Sun Sets Over County Tipperary Lake

A beautiful murmuration of starlings was recorded swooping above a lake in County Tipperary, Ireland, as the sun set on January 1.

Michael Molamphy, who recorded the footage, told Storyful, “While I have recorded the occurrence many times, this evening’s display left me speechless. I felt as if I was almost a participant, such was the proximity.”

He continued to say, “At one point, just before the end, the sky became completely dark and the noise was extraordinary.”
