Step aside cyling shorts, Kylie Jenner is now championing unitards

Kylie Jenner may only be 21-years-old, but her influence is already strong enough to impact a nation.

Last week the youngest Kardashian-Jenner celebrated her 21st birthday wearing two head-turning outfits, the hero ensemble being a crystal-covered garment that merged the Kardashian-famous cycling shorts with a boob tube top.

The look wasn't just a one-off birthday special, though. It seems the mum-of-one wants to take the 2018 cycling shorts trend to the next level.

On Wednesday, Kylie posted a series of snaps on her Instagram wearing yet another figure-hugging all-in-one style, but this time, a more casual white ensemble from Fashion Nova.

It's not the first time Kylie has been seen in a simple romper by the American brand. Back in April, shortly after giving birth to baby Stormi, a blue haired Kylie stunned in a similar strapless style.

Now, we all know with Kardashian trends at first you think "erm, really?", a second outing is cause for concern and, by the third, trend status is already inevitable.

Firstly, for those wondering what on earth this style is called, we went through all the options: bodysuit? Jumpsuits? Leotard? Playsuit? Shapesuit?

The high street has confirmed that it is in fact a unitard - and, thanks to Kylie (as well as the Fenty x Puma and Yeezy catwalks), the sporty style is catching on quick.

PrettyLittleThing, Boohoo, Missguided and Motel Rocks are fully championing the upcoming trend that has already proved popular on the summer festival scene.

Luckily, the silhouette is surprisingly simple to style.

And, with designs ranging from simple black to on-trend animal print and blinding neon hues, all you have to do is add a bumbag and you're good to go.

Fitting a unitard into your everyday wardrobe, however, may be bit more tricky, especially if you've been hesitant about wearing your cycling shorts out of the house.

But, add a denim jacket and pair of dad-inspired trainers, and you could be surprised at how comfortable you feel in the ensemble.

If you want to dress up the item in a more sophisticated manner, take note from model Jasmine Saunders and stick to all-black hues, adding a pair of heeled ankle boots.

As for how to wear it on a night out à la Kylie Jenner?

Simply pair your unitard of your choice with a killer pair of stilettoes and get ready to dance the night away.
