Stephen Colbert Mocks Trump on RNC Stage, "Escorted Away by Security"

Stephen Colbert, the host of CBS’s The Late Show, made a surprise appearance and mocked Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump a day before the Republican National Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday, July 17. Donning the coiffure of Caesar Flickman from movie franchise The Hunger Games, Colbert ridiculed Trump’s decision to run with Indiana Governor Mike Pence by pretending to faint.

The show host announced the launch of the “2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games” and said: “Look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here, but to be honest, neither is Donald Trump," while being escorted off the stage. Journalists at the convention indicated that even the person “escorting” Colbert away was part of the stunt and not part of convention security. Credit: Cassandra Fairbanks
