Stephen Robinson salutes St Mirren stars after Hibernian injury-time scare
Stephen Robinson insists he was confident Hibernian would be denied an injury-time moment of glory on Saturday.
A strike from Nicky Cadden, who had scored a penalty moments earlier following Conor McMenamin's first-half brace, looked to have earned the rock-bottom Leith outfit an undeserved point.
However, VAR ruled the goal out for offside and St Mirren left Easter Road with an impressive 2-1 Premiership victory. But while hearts skipped a beat in the away end, Buddies boss Robbo kept a cool head after studying the live stream being beamed into his dugout.

He said: “Believe it or not, we were quite convinced it was offside because we had seen the footage and we were like, ‘please don’t get this one wrong’.
“We’ve been on the wrong end of some, let’s say, not-so-great decisions. It went our way and it would have been a travesty if we hadn’t won the game.
“But you have to defend for nearly 98 minutes and we did that eventually with a slice of luck and with the decision going our way.”
Robbo’s men are unbeaten in three, have picked up seven points from the last nine and appear back to their old selves going into the international break.
Saints will return to a SMiSA Stadium cracker with Aberdeen and a sell-out Red Army arriving in Paisley on Saturday, November 23.
He added: “We look like a team that is a real threat. In the first half, I thought we were outstanding. It’s a nervy finish because we don’t finish the game off. But to a man, we’re delighted with the quality and energy.
“It’s good to get back to what we’re good at. The players know what we’re good at and they really believe in it. It’s hard to pick out individuals as it was a real team performance.”
