Steps Narrowly Miss Out On Number One Album Thanks To Ed Sheeran - But Top The Download Charts

It’s been billed as one of the greatest comebacks of the year, but Steps have JUST narrowly missed out on the number one spot on the top of the album charts.

The pop juggernauts came back with a bang this year with their latest single ‘Scared Of The Dark’, as well as a brand new album full of new material and an upcoming tour.

However, despite thousands of downloads and streams, the five-piece were denied a place on the top spot by the red-headed pop overlord Ed Sheeran, who remains at the top of the charts with his new album for yet another week.

Monday saw the band in the lead with a 4,000 unit advantage over Ed, though come yesterday, Ed’s ‘Divide’ was 16,000 units ahead of the band – knocking their album ‘Tears On The Dancefloor’ down to number two.

However, the band can take pride in the fact that twenty years since they formed, they are number one in the download chart.

Certainly not a TRAGEDY, eh???

Claire, Faye, Lisa, H, and Lee achieved three number one albums and fourteen top ten hits back in the day, before splitting in the early 2000’s.

2017 marks the band’s twentieth anniversary – with their new album receiving critical and commercial acclaim.
