Yahoo News Steve Coogan's comedy remake confirms UK cinema release date
Steve Coogan's stage adaptation of Dr Strangelove is getting a cinema release next year through National Theatre Live.
The theatre version of the classic Cold War satire movie premiered in London in October, and is currently running at the Noël Coward Theatre in London until next month.
However, fans who missed out on tickets will be able to watch a filmed version of the play in worldwide cinemas from March 27, 2025.

The production has been co-adapted from the original movie by Veep's Armando Iannucci, with Sean Foley directing.
Coogan takes on multiple roles in the stage version, much like Peter Sellers in the original Stanley Kubrick film, with the adaptation also starring Giles Terera, John Hopkins, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Penny Ashmore, Ben Deery, Richard Dempsey, Mabli Gwynne, Mark Hadfield and Tony Jayawardena.
Dr Strangelove was originally released in 1964, and follows nuclear tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union as a rogue general orders a pre-emptive strike on the USSR, and the US President and his advisors try to stop a potential nuclear war.

The show isn't the only production getting a cinema release next year, with Ncuti Gatwa's National Theatre version of The Importance of Being Earnest hitting the big screen in February.
The Oscar Wilde adaptation also stars Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again's Hugh Skinner, Doctor Who's Sharon D Clarke and Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́, and Little Women’s Eliza Scanlen.
The story follows two friends who put on false identities to try and impress two women, though get caught in a web of lies.
The show itself has just opened on the London stage, and will also run until January before its cinema release date.
Dr Strangelove is currently running at London's Noël Coward Theatre until January 25, 2025, and will be released in cinemas worldwide on March 27, 2025.
