Steven Gerrard's daughters say 'thank you for everything' as they share special family update

Steven Gerrard is celebrating his 44th birthday.

The former Liverpool captain, from Whiston, shared a string of messages he received from celebrity friends as well as touching messages from his family to his 11.7 million Instagram followers.

Steven's eldest daughter Lilly-Ella posted a montage of memories on her Instagram story. It was captioned: "Happy Birthday to the best dad in the world! You have the best heart.

"I love you so much. Thank you for everything. Have a boss day".

Lexie, another of Steven's daughters, posted two snaps to her Instagram story this morning. In one, she wrote: "Happy birthday to my dad. I love you so much and I hope u have the best day.

"You mean the world to me. Thank you for everything."

The 18-year-old captioned the second post, featuring Steven and her little brother Lio: "The best there is. We are the luckiest to be able to call u our dad"

Liverpool legends including Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher sent a message to the Anfield legend, who currently manages Al-Ettifaq FC in Saudi Arabia. Former teammates Luis Garcia and Fabio Aurelio also wished the dad-of-four a happy birthday.

Fans also flooded the former midfielder with a sea of special messages featuring pictures from his lengthy career at Liverpool FC. The official LFC account shared a collection of his finest moments with the club - including lifting the FA Cup and Champions League as well as celebrations that have gone down in the club's history.

Steven lives in the Middle East with wife Alex and their four children. He has a luxury villa in Damman provided by his employers but splits his time there with a base in Bahrain where he completes a commute along a 15-mile causeway between the countries.
