The following article contains allegations of sexual misconduct that some readers may find distressing.

Steven Seagal has been accused of historic sexual harassment by US presenter Lisa Guerrero.

The Inside Edition presenter has alleged that she was mistreated by the action movie star when she auditioned for his film Fire Down Below in the mid-1990s.

In an interview with Newsweek, Guerrero alleges that she was initially offered to audition for the film at Seagal's home, so she brought along a female friend so as not to be alone with him.

"This was potentially a huge break for me but there was no way I was going there by myself," Guerrero remembered.

According to Guerrero, Seagal opened the door to his room wearing only a silk kimono and asked her to read lines and answer a series of personal questions while he sat on a throne-like chair.

"I drove home feeling pretty good about the audition and that same day my manager called. 'Steven wants to offer you the lead but you have to go back to his home for a private rehearsal tonight'," the presenter remembered.

Guerrero says she declined, and the role was subsequently given to another actress. However, she was offered a smaller role in the film that she believes was ultimately cut.

When she arrived on set to shoot her scene, Guerrero remembers seeing Seagal staring at her and laughing in front of other men.

"Finally he approached me and asked, 'Would you like to go into my dressing room?'" she recalled.

Guerrero says she once again declined. Digital Spy has reached out to Steven Seagal's representatives for comment on these allegations.

Seagal's spokesperson has previously described separate historic accusations of harassment from Jenny McCarthy as "completely false".

The 65-year-old actor has most recently made headlines for a bizarre appearance on Good Morning Britain in which he spoke about his controversial friendship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
