Stevie Nicks fans 'gutted' as Glasgow Hydro show cancelled due to leg injury

Stevie Nicks fans are "gutted" after it was announced that the former Fleetwood Mac star would no longer be performing in the city tonight.

The 76-year-old American singer-songwriter was due to entertain crowds at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday evening, from 7.15pm, but the gig has been postponed due to a leg injury.

The popular venue told fans that she will need "a few days" to recover and have therefore cancelled her show in the city as well as her Manchester gig on Tuesday, July 9.

Fans have been advised to hold onto their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

Many have been left heartbroken by the news and have sent their well-wishes to Stevie.

One wrote: "I’m absolutely gutted."

Another said: "Gutted, on way to Glasgow to stay in our non-refundable room but totally understand that health comes first."

While a third added: "So disappointed."

A fourth wrote: "Was sooo looking forward to going with my 20-year-old daughter who loves her too! Get well soon Stevie, hopefully get to see you soon."

Gig-goers have also shown their support for Stevie and her decision to postpone the shows.

One said: "I can understand fans being upset (I was supposed to be there tonight also), but let’s not forget Stevie is 76 and has health issues. I’m sure she would have performed if she was safely able to.

"As disappointing as it is, if she’s injured and sore it’s completely understandable why she’s postponed it."

Another wrote: "Let's just hope she gets well and is back entertaining us all very soon."

The OVO Hydro wrote on social media: "Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled performances in Glasgow Saturday 6 July and Manchester Tuesday 9 July have been postponed.

"More information will be available at point of purchase, ticketholders are advised to hold on to their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

"Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone at Hyde Park in London."
