The Late Late Show host has already shared his commute with the likes of Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart & A$AP Rocky, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Hudson and Justin Bieber, but he truly outdid himself by getting Stevie to jump in his ride.

The best moment of the whole thing? The bit where Stevie rung James’ wife Julia and serenaded her with a very special, very beautiful, very emotional rendition of ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You’, reducing the host to tears.

No, we’re not crying. Our eyes are just leaking, alright? WHO PUT THAT ONION THERE?!

The rendition even featured a ruddy harmonica AND had lyrics tailored to the couple. Something tells us James and Julia will never ever forget this moment.

The journey had started with Stevie in the driving seat (and James nervously sitting in the passenger seat), before he quickly realised he DIDN’T have his license and accused the presenter of taking it. In his very best British accent, obviously.

During the journey, the singer continued to mock James’ accent before FaceTiming a family member to confirm who his driver was.

He then FaceTimed another friend to let them know about the pair’s Wondercats plans, with the two deciding that they’d be writing new lyrics to Stevie’s classics while rocking a futuristic vibe.

We’re SO on-board with this idea. Make it happen please, world.

Oh, and it wouldn’t be Carpool Karaoke without actual karaoke, with the dynamic duo singing along to everything from ‘Superstition’ to ‘Sir Duke’ to ‘Isn’t She Lovely’.

Here’s the video in all its glory:

Amazing work, guys.
