Still no final cost for Nuneaton's Bermuda bridge project - five months after it opened
The full and final total cost of Nuneaton's Bermuda Bridge project is still not available. Warwickshire County Council previously told CoventryLive that this figure would be available to the public this autumn.
We contacted the county council to get the final overall cost for the project, which was notoriously hit by delays and overspends. But a spokesperson said that it was not yet available.
This is despite the bridge now being open for more than five months. A Warwickshire County Council spokesperson has said: " As part of the final account process we are working with the contractor to confirm the final costs for the scheme and discussions remain ongoing. We are therefore not able to advise on final costs until this process is completed."

The local authority previously said the public will not find out the true costs until after the project finished. It is known that it is hugely overbudget.
Initially the cost was around the £3m mark but the last publicly available data showed that the cost had topped £14.941m. This figure is likely to be even higher.
Prior to the works, the bridge was only open to cyclists and pedestrians. But then the project was revealed in a bid to open it up to all traffic.
It has received a mix reception since opening with many locals using it to avoid using the A444. However, there have been ongoing concerns raised about speeding over the bridge and onto Bermuda Road.
This is an issue that the local authority previously said it was monitoring.
