Most of us mere mortals are not destined for the life of a catwalk model.

But wouldn’t it be fun to try sashaying down a runway just once?

Thanks to a new competition being run by Danish designer Stine Goya and social networking app Bumble, that dream just became a potential reality, as the two brands are offering up to five women the chance to walk in Stine Goya’s SS20 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week on 8th August 2019.

Both brands are on a mission to challenge the status quo of beauty, diversity and female empowerment, and drive change in the fashion industry and beyond.

“As a brand rooted in female empowerment and equality, it’s important for us to work with partners who have a shared vision in democratising access for women in all industries,” said Louise Troen, Vice-President of International Marketing & Communications of Bumble in a statement. “At Bumble, we believe it’s important to not only raise awareness of gender equality issues but to go one step further by creating initiatives which drive actual change forward and this partnership is an exciting first step for us in the fashion industry.”

Those keen to apply must first download Bumble, and become one of its 60 million users worldwide. Bumble users will be able to apply for the opportunity via Bumble Bizz, where they will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire on what diversity and empowerment in the fashion industry means to them.

The winners will be treated to a full fashion week experience from Stina Goya including walking on the runway at the Spring/Summer 2020 show on August 8th, a visit to the showroom in Copenhagen and a complete outfit gifted from the brand.

When it comes to the selection criteria, Stine Goya and Bumble are looking for “any woman that embodies the shared values of equality and empowerment.”

“I have always intended my designs be tools for women to help lead their best lives, express their true style and celebrate their personality. The Bumble platform - with its focus on empowerment is absolutely an advocate for this message. Together we recognised a need for the fashion industry to commit to democratising access in all areas, and make all walks of life & circumstance feel included in its evolving narrative,” said Stine Goya in a statement.

“In opening our SS20 casting to Bumble users, we hope to encourage women to challenge both industry stereotypes and themselves and feel empowered to feel a true sense of belonging in this industry by seeing themselves on the runway,” she continued.

A gorgeous minibreak, even more gorgeous clothes and a chance to have your ten minutes catwalking in the limelight? It’s positively madness not to apply.
