Stoke City new manager latest as Narcis Pelach set for bet365 Stadium watching brief
Prospective Stoke City head coach Narcis Pelach is expected to be at the bet365 Stadium this evening ahead of his official unveiling.
The 36-year-old is set to watch from the stands as Stoke, under the caretaker charge of Ryan Shawcross, take on Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup third round (7.30pm). He has been in talks about moving from Norwich, where he has been first team coach, to take over from Steven Schumacher, who was relieved of his duties yesterday.
Discussions are ongoing about putting together Pelach’s coaching, with keeper coach Paul Clements likely to follow him from Norwich as well as analyst Harrison Glew, who also worked with Pelach at Huddersfield Town. It is believed further appointments will follow.

Stoke have moved at breakneck speed to get a new team in place after deciding to cut ties with Schumacher, his assistants Mark Hughes and Chris Cohen, coach Peter Cavanagh and head of performance Elliot Turner. The Fleetwood game is followed by a Championship home match against Hull on Friday (8pm).
Sporting director Jon Walters said yesterday: “My role as sporting director is to make tough decisions that serve the long-term interests of Stoke City. After ongoing discussions with John Coates, we feel the time is right for a change in direction to bring success to the club.
“We have a young, dynamic squad that is eager to develop and a clear vision of how to achieve success, and we hope to announce a new appointment shortly. We will need the fans, staff, and players united in support to achieve our goals.”
