A restaurant and cocktail bar is opening today - and there's a five-star chef running the kitchen. The Bistro Quarters opens within Brunswick House - on Etruria Road, in Basford - on Saturday 30 November.

It has appointed Mark Walker as executive chef. Mark has previously held the same role at the five-star Buxton Crescent Hotel after opening the Tunnel Club restaurants at Manchester City.

The venue states: "The Bistro Quarters offers an elegant, relaxed dining experience, with an emphasis on a friendly and relaxed bistro-style vibe. Beauty and the Bistro has seen significant investment and is committed to the local community."

Its crockery is coming from Churchill China, in Sandyford.

The venue added: "They really wowed us with their huge selection of dinnerware and we just love the impactful styles. They demand to be admired and at Beauty and the Bistro, we understand the importance of leaving a lasting impression."

Beauty and the Bistro - housing a one-stop beauty salon and a fine-dining bistro - has been planned for years. But work stopped in 2020 after a key investor left the project.

The high-end parlour is expected to launch next year.
