Stokie MasterChef contestant teams up with Potteries Centre retro gaming diner
Stoke-on-Trent MasterChef contestant Steve Deakin is teaming up with a youth charity's retro gaming diner based at The Potteries Centre. Steve, a quarter-finalist in this year's series of the hit BBC show, will host a monthly event for foodies at the Chit Chat 4 U All diner.
His first pop-up restaurant evening takes place from 7pm until 10.30pm on Saturday, November 23. Steve, from Chell, will be debuting a new menu boasting three courses of Indian fusion-inspired dishes.
Hanley-based Chit Chat 4 U All is a charity working to prevent knife crime, gangs and youth violence. Its Artisan World store, based in the lower mall, is filled with local traders and entrepreneurs that rotate each month, selling a variety of items including jewellery, accessories, dog treats and ladies clothing.

Steve said: “I was inspired by what Chit Chat 4 U All have achieved in such a short space of time in a town I love and have been brought up in. It is a privilege to work with a great team to showcase my fusion-inspired food to the public and give me a greater insight into the hospitality industry and the charity they run.
"I look forward to making some tasty food together at our monthly events and enhance Chit Chat 4 U All's presence in Staffordshire." Chit Chat 4 U All representatives Jay and Larissa added: "We are so thrilled to be working alongside Steve Deakin to bring this exciting project, and delicious food, to the people of Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area. The project will give our young volunteers a great opportunity to work with such a talented chef!"
The Potteries Centre director Amy Whittaker said: "We are so proud to continue our partnership with Chit Chat 4 U All and support their initiative to bring these pop-up events to Hanley.
