A fleeing BMW ploughed into a police car during a chase through the Potteries. The car was eventually dumped on a track just off Longton's Phoenix Park.

Now police say an investigation is underway 'with plenty of forensics left behind'. The red BMW 1 Series was said to have been stolen overnight, with the keys, in Stoke-on-Trent.

However on being spotted it failed to stop for police. It then smashed into one of the force's unmarked cars - leaving dents and scrapes all down the side.

The vehicle was then abandoned on Sidings Place on Phoenix Park, just over the wall from the Greggs drive-thru.
