Pictures posted on social media show flooding on train lines in South Gloucestershire today, Monday, November 25. It comes after Storm Bert battered the nation over the weekend, prompting Great Western Railway (GWR) to issue an urgent "do not travel warning".

The heavy rainfall and strong winds have caused flooding, landslips and trees to fall across the region. GWR said earlier today that all train services in the South West were suspended as a result.

The train lines at Chipping Sodbury were among those hit by flooding this morning. Pictures show standing water on the tracks between Swindon and Bristol Parkway.

Network Rail Western said in a post on X: "Our region continues to see the impact of #StormBert, which brought heavy rainfall this weekend. Flooding, landslips & downed trees are impacting many of our lines. This is the scene at Chipping Sodbury this morning, on the line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway."
