Storm Bert dramatic moment as tree falls and nearly crashes into cars

A driver has captured the dramatic moment when a tree fell and almost crashed into nearby cars. Storm Bert has battered the South West today, Saturday, November 23, with strong winds and heavy rain.

This chaotic weather has led to a red warning in Devon, with a chance of flooding and power cuts. As seen in the video, a tree fell on Plymouth Road on Plympton.

The video sent to PlymouthLive t 6:47 pm this evening said the incident took place on Plympton Road. The tall tree is seen falling in between two cars as the slow traffic begins to move. We are currently unaware if anyone has been injured due to this incident.

It came in the middle of the double weather warning as strong winds are set to continue tomorrow, Sunday, November 24. The Met Office has issued two yellow warnings as the storm will likely cause dangerous coastal conditions and disruption.

A warning for rain lasts until 11.45 p.m. Sunday night, and the wind warning lasts until 9 p.m. Sunday. Flood alerts and warnings have already been issued across the Southwest, and more are expected.
