Storm Brendan Prompts Weather Warnings in Scotland

Storm Brendan brought heavy rain, strong winds, and surging seas to communities along the western coasts of Ireland and Great Britain on January 13, including Ardrossan, Scotland.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for Northern Ireland and western parts of Great Britain, including the Scottish and Welsh coasts.

Ireland’s meteorological service Met Eireann reported storm-force wind gusts at a weather station on the south coast, and more than 16 mm of rainfall at a weather station on the southwest coast.

Video filmed along the shore in Ardrossan shows rough surf crashing into the embankment at South Beach near the town center.

Local reports said ferry service between Ardrossan and the Isle of Arran would be limited on Monday due to rough sea conditions caused by the storm. Credit: @Sharon74593810 via Storyful
