Storm Chaser Gets Up Close to Huge Tornado in North Illinois

Storm chaser Greg Belt had a close encounter with a huge tornado as it passed over a road in front of him just north of Marseilles, Illinois, on February 28.

Belt told Storyful after the tornado sighting, he drove by damaged structures and a downed radio tower. At least one person was killed after the tornado passed through LaSalle County, where Marseilles is located, on February 28.
