Storm-Scattered Tree Limbs Litter College Park

Powerful thunderstorms walloped Maryland on Tuesday afternoon, July 12, leaving thousands without power and downing trees across the College Park area, according to reports.

The National Weather Service had warned of winds, damaging hail, and the potential for an isolated tornado.

This footage shows storm damage at the Holy Redeemer Church in College Park, just north of Washington, on Tuesday evening. The Maryland city sustained major damage, officials said.
