Storm Shrouds Western Australia Town in Dust

A dust storm obscured the town of Newman, Western Australia, on October 21.

This video shows the hazy environment as a few people stand around a parking lot in Newman to observe the dust storm.

Local media shared the footage, taken by Haylee Guiver, and said the storm lasted more than 10 minutes.

Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology said dust storms in Australia can form when winds reach at least 30 kilometers per hour (about 18.6 mph) and are more likely when conditions are dry. Credit: Haylee Guiver via Storyful
