Stormy Seas Off Bermuda as Hurricane Earl Passes

Bermuda saw stormy seas on Thursday, September 8, as Hurricane Earl passed the island.

Twitter user @bobbywalnut said he captured this footage at various locations along the coast, including at Astwood Cove, Church Bay, Elbow Beach, and Horseshoe Bay.

The footage shows the impressive swells, and even some surfers braving them.

The tropical storm conditions brought by Earl to Bermuda were expected to diminish early on September 9, the National Hurricane Center said. The center warned of “life-threatening surf” over the weekend as far north as Newfoundland. Credit: @bobbywalnut via Storyful
