Hollyoaks Favourites brought viewers back to one of its most emotional face-to-face confrontations ever on Wednesday (May 13), as Sienna and troubled daughter Nico went face-to-face on a rooftop.

This 2018 storyline came as a part of a week-long arc that revealed the truth about Sienna faking her death, and set the stage for drama currently playing out on screens with her children.

Jorgie Porter introduced this Hollyoaks Favourites: Bust-Ups episode as being "full of shocks and surprises", as a stunned Nico (Persephone Swales-Dawson) learned that her mum was alive.

As the two argued over Nico's baby bump on the roof, Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) turned up to beg Sienna to leave town with him and baby Sebastian before it was too late!

Nico used the distraction to corner Sienna near the edge of the roof, giving Warren a chance to escape. When Nico also made a hasty retreat, Sienna realised that her only choice was to reveal she was alive.

She interrupted her own wake in the village to warn the stunned mourners — but was met with a horrified reception when everyone realised she'd pulled the wool over their eyes.

In the meantime, Warren had managed to escape with baby Sebastian, while Nico returned to a dejected Sienna's side at her flat to comfort her.

"I'll look after you through all of this," Nico vowed, before demanding: "And you'll keep me hidden and safe!"

Their reconciliation would be short-lived as both would become increasingly desperate over the next few weeks. Sienna would threaten to expose Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and Mandy's (Sarah Jayne Dunn) affair if they didn't pay her £2,000.

Nico also continued on a dark path, with motherhood not making any difference in her violent obsession with Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell).

Just one month after Wednesday's Hollyoaks Favourites episode originally aired, Sienna enlisted Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) to get baby Victoria out of harm's way and turn her over to the hospital.

Sienna would get involved in a vicious brawl with Nico, where she would be forced to knock her dead with a doorknob to stop the teen's homicidal rage once and for all.

Believe it or not, Nico wasn't the only major death in Hollyoaks at the time. In the same week as Wednesday's flashback, Adam Donovan (Jimmy Essex) had been forced into helping his father Glenn (Bob Cryer) take revenge on Zack Loveday (Duayne Boachie).

Glenn would order Adam to march Zack off into the woods to kill him, but his son had second thoughts at the last possible moment. Instead, Adam encouraged Zack to run away because he was the real informant.

Unfortunately for Adam, Glenn found out about the truth and put a bullet in his own son's head over the betrayal. At the time, Jimmy Essex admitted even he found his exit "really, really shocking".

Glenn would ultimately face the ultimate judgement for his parental betrayal at the hands of Hollyoaks serial killer Breda McQueen as part of her quest to kill all of the village's bad dads.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 will feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites to compensate for the soap suspending filming.
