Stourbridge industrial estate fire warning as locals told ‘avoid the area’

The public have been warned to ‘avoid the area’ after a fire has broken out at a Black Country industrial park. The fire has taken hold in Timmis Road in the Lye area of Stourbridge shortly after 6pm on Tuesday (November 12).

West Midlands Fire Service was alerted to the incident at 6.17pm. It has sent four crews to the scene, one from Stourbridge, two from Brierley Hill and one from Haden Cross.

The fire is said to involve waste. The fire service has warned people to avoid the area and to keep entrances to their homes shut.

In a post on X West Midlands Fire Service said: “Crews from Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Haden Cross are attending a fire on Timmis Road, Lye involving a waste fire. Please avoid the area and keep all doors and windows closed.”

A spokeswoman for the fire service confirmed there were still four crews ‘dealing with the incident’ shortly after 6pm. The industrial estate is off the A458 Stourbridge Road but did not appear to be causing any traffic delays.
