Beachgoers who were stranded on the rocks at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park on Memorial Day were rescued by boat after being unable to swim back to shore, the St Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said.

The county fire department said the group had washed up on the rocks and were unable to get back to shore due to the current.
