A woman was sent a card through the post containing £100 by a complete stranger who wanted to reward her for being a good mum.

Sarah Bartlett, 37, opened up the envelope that was posted through her door last Sunday afternoon and was shocked to discover the cash and a note praising her mothering skills.

The card read: “Darling Sarah, from another mummy who has noticed that you do an amazing job, enjoy the enclosed, for you. Be blessed.”

Mum-of-three Sarah, from Sidcup, London, said she was overcome with emotion after reading the note.

She said: "I was just in utter shock. I got the card through the door and thought it might just be a belated birthday card. But when I opened it, I started to cry with happiness.

"I am just so grateful and cannot thank them enough. It’s not all about the money, it’s the gesture which made me feel so incredibly happy. It made my week.

"It’s not every day something like that happens - I’ve never experienced anything like this before.”

Sarah, who is mum to Holly, 17, Ben, ten, and five-year-old Georgia, still has no idea who sent her the money.

She added: “The choice to remain anonymous shows how kind-hearted and selfless the woman is. She didn’t want any praise from it.

"I literally have no idea who this anonymous person could be - I asked my friends but they told me they didn’t send anything.”
