With just a week to go until new episode of Stranger Things finally hit our Netflix list, the series is doing everything it can to build up excitement, from putting the cast in '80s-themed movie posters to dropping an incredible trailer on Friday the 13th.

The latest teaser for the upcoming second season provides a whole new look at life in Hawkins, Indiana, as a retro television set flicks through all the local news and adverts of the town.

From advertising the Palace Arcade where a player called MADMAX has beaten Dustin's high score (a hint at Sadie Sink's new character Max, perhaps, or a link to the season's first episode title?) to revealing how to play a VHS-C – "Sit back and enjoy the future" – the new clip is more of a teaser than anything we've seen before.

But by far the most intriguing clip is the breaking news segment revealing that Chief Hopper (David Harbour) is investigating the mysterious phenomenon of rotting pumpkin patches plaguing Hawkins the day before Halloween.
