Yahoo News Stranger Things season 2 almost didn't happen
Stranger Things could have had a very different look for season two, if the creators stuck with their original plan.
The Duffer Brothers, speaking to Wired, revealed that they were interested in making the hit Netflix series an anthology show.
(Think along the lines of True Detective, Fargo and American Horror Story.)
"That's how we conceived of it," Matt Duffer said. "It was right in that period where people in television were really into the idea... and then were less interested.

"So we adapted. I think if we were a year earlier..."
"Maybe it would have ended up as an anthology," Ross Duffer said, finishing off that thought.
Matt said that he has no regrets making the second season a continuation of the events of season one.
"Now I'm really happy that it isn't [an anthology series], because we found these kids that clicked," he said. "It would become a problem if we just continued to treat it like a TV show and just kept going for like seven seasons or something, but if we get out after four seasons or something, then I don't think it's going to feel that way."
There's been a lot of talk about how long Stranger Things will last.
Is it going to be four seasons? Or is there a chance it will continue beyond that?
"The truth is we're definitely going four seasons and there's very much the possibility of a fifth. Beyond that, it becomes I think very unlikely," executive producer Shawn Levy recently said.
Stranger Things season two launches October 27 on Netflix.
