Stranger Things' Dustin is going all Punk'd with his own prank show on Netflix.

It's been revealed that the star of the hit Netflix series, Gaten Matarazzo, is moving into new territory on the streaming platform with a show called Prank Encounters.

Netflix has described the eight-part series, which will launch later this year, as "a hidden camera prank show where two strangers each think it's their first day at a new job".

The synopsis adds: "It's business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares."

Matarazzo will also executive produce the series, and its announcement comes ahead of the release of the brand new season of Stranger Things.

While we know little about what is coming, a new poster may have confirmed who the big bad of the third batch of episodes is. In it, we see Billy Hargrove placed below a dark monster, suggesting he may be a dark force in the upcoming events.

Actor Dacre Montgomery previously added weight to this idea after saying theories that he will be a supervillain in season 3 are "really interesting".

Meanwhile, co-creator Ross Duffer has said that the new season will be inspired by classic Hollywood movies, teasing: "We would say that this is our most unapologetically fun season.

"Yet at the same time, it is also our most horrifying and intense season. It's this wild mix of tones that we think really sets this season apart."

Stranger Things returns for its third season on Netflix on July 4. Seasons 1 and 2 are available for streaming now.
