Kathryn Hahn reprises her role in Agatha All Along, which premieres today on Disney+. When we last saw Agatha in WandaVision, she lost her magical powers to the Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen). In the new show, a mysterious person who goes by Teen (Joe Locke) breaks Agatha free from a distorted spell and begs her to take him on the Witches’ Road, “a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven and set off,” per the logline.

Broadway star Patti LuPone, Emmy-nominated actress Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp and Alice Wu-Gulliver round out the cast of witches, each with their own reasons for joining the treacherous expedition. The stars even gave a sneak peek at the D23 expo in August when they performed “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road.”
Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer says she took extra precautions to avoid fueling fan theories and sending viewers down the wrong path. That hasn’t stopped Marvel superfans from speculating the identity of the Teen, who is either censored or muted whenever he tries to share his backstory in the series.
“With WandaVision, I took the fan theories a little personally, and I feel like I’ve changed since then after walking through the WandaVision experience,” Schaeffer recently told The Hollywood Reporter. “Everyone at Marvel during WandaVision was so relaxed about the fan theories, and I now understand that there are always going to be theories. … The short answer is there are a handful of things that of course I can’t explain. I have been very careful with the language that I use in order to protect things.”
