Streets flooded, cars and homes submerged as heavy rains hit Caracas, Venezuela

Cars were submerged and homes inundated when heavy rain flooded Caracas, Venezuela, on Tuesday 26 April. Video showed flooded streets and vehicles in the Catia neighbourhood. As well as he heavy rain, lack of maintenance for the public drainage system made the flooding worse. The following day, Caraqueños were seen carrying the few belongings they had left from their damaged homes. As well as Caracas, heavy rains have affected the states of Merida, Tachira, and Zulia.
