Streets Flooded as Philippine Islands Brace for Deadly Tropical Storm

At least 31 people were killed in overnight flooding and landslides across the southern Philippines on Friday, October 28, as the country awaits the landfall of Tropical Storm Nalgae, local officials reported.

Flash flooding and landslide warnings were issued on Friday as Tropical Storm Nalgae intensified as it moved over the Philippine Sea.

According to reports citing the civil defense office, nearly 5,000 people were evacuated from flood- and landslide-affected areas.

The storm is forecast to move northwest over the weekend.
